Magic! is a Canadian music group, and it is composed of lead vocalist, guitarist, and producer Nasri Atweh, guitarist Mark "Pelli" Pellizzer, bass guitarist Ben Spivak, and percussionist Alex Tanas. Active since 2012, the band has two albums. Their first album is: Don't Kill the Magic, released in 2014, and their second studio album is: Primary Colours released in 2016. They are most known for their hit single "Rude", which charted at number one in several countries worldwide. The band is heavily inspired by the musical groups: The Police, Bob Marley and the Wailers. They are known for having a signature reggae-influenced pop sound.

The single "Rude" was released on October 12, 2013. The song peaked at number six on the Canadian Hot 100 and also proved a great international success, topping the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom and peaking within the top ten of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden.

There has been at least one significant remix of "Rude". A remix by Russian-German producer/DJ Zedd was premiered in his set at Lollapalooza 2014. It was released on September 2, 2014, Zedd's 25th birthday. Zedd had said, "I'm gonna give myself a birthday present and release my remix of ‘Rude’ on my bday, sept 2nd!" He also released official, completed full-length audio on his Soundcloud on August 28, 2014, which garnered nearly 400,000 plays within 24 hours. While the original was still in number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100, there was speculation that release of the remix on mainstream music outlets online would assist the original song in maintaining its position on the chart.

This song can be heard by anyone, of any age, without restrictions. It is smooth and its melody is sung slowly, so we can understand what the singer is saying. For educational purposes, the informal lyrics vocabulary can be important for students who do not know. Their language is informal because it uses 'Cause and 'til. The value of the vocabulary present in the lyrics is immense, because through the lyrics we can relate to others contexts.
